A business owner’s policy, or BOP, packages the coverage most small businesses need into one policy: general liability plus coverage for your business property, and often business income after a covered loss. It’s commonly a simpler and more economical way to cover a shop, office, restaurant or service business than buying each piece separately. Dupuy Insurance quotes BOPs for businesses in Florida and Texas.
What a BOP usually includes
- General liability: claims of bodily injury or property damage to others.
- Business property: your building if you own it, plus equipment, furniture, inventory and improvements.
- Business income: lost income and continuing expenses while you recover from a covered property loss, depending on the policy.
Carriers offer add-ons such as equipment breakdown or data breach coverage, depending on the policy. A BOP doesn’t include workers’ compensation or commercial auto; we quote those separately.
Is a BOP right for your business?
BOPs are designed for small to mid-sized businesses with lower-risk operations: offices, retail stores, restaurants, salons, and many service businesses. Carriers set eligibility by business type, size and building. If a BOP isn’t a fit, we’ll quote general liability and property coverage separately.
